5 amazing WhatsApp tricks:
1.This trick is based on the WhatsApp Audio Message:
I guess almost everyone has faced this problem. Suppose your friend dropped an audio message for you in Whatsapp while you are traveling in metro or you are with your family. And unfortunately, you don’t have your earphones with you. There could be anything in that audio( you know what I mean) and you don’t want others to hear that private stuff. So how to listen to the audio message without the earphones? It’s really simple: Just play the audio and immediately place the phone on your ear. Yeah, it’s the same process which you do at the time of calling. As soon as you placed the phone on your ear the audio will starts playing through the phone’s earpiece instead of the speaker. This basically works due to the proximity sensor.
2.Creating a WhatsApp account with an international number:
For this, you have to make a clone of Whatsapp. Install the app PARALLEL SPACE from Play Store. The app will make a clone of Whatsapp, i.e. you will be able to run two different Whatsapp account on the same smartphone. After installing Parallel Space, you have to install another app PRIMO. Create an account on Primo and most importantly you have to verify your e-mail id. After you are done verifying, open the app and on the left side of the menu bar, you will get a unique phone number starting with ‘+1’ (USA country code). Just copy the number and paste it on your clone WhatsApp created by parallel space.
Note: Whatsapp won’t be able to send an OTP to that international number through SMS. Hence opt for ‘Get a call’ for registration. You will get a call from WhatsApp through the Primo app regarding the code. Hear the six digit code carefully and enter the code at your clone WhatsApp account to register. Hence, you are done creating the account with an international number.
3.How to unblock yourself from someone if that contact has blocked you?
So the next WhatsApp trick is to unblock yourself from a contact if it has blocked you. First of all, you have to delete your WhatsApp account. Go to Settings> Account> Delete my account.
Confirm your number and then delete your account. Then uninstall Whatsapp from your phone and restart it. Remember, restarting your phone is very important. Soon after that, install Whatsapp on your phone from Play Store and sign up. Now, after signing up you will see that you have been successfully unblocked from the contact that has blocked you. And you can send messages to him/her.
4.Hide ‘WhatsApp image’ from your gallery:
Fed up of the WhatsApp images in your Phone’s gallery? Here is how you can hide it from your gallery.
For iPhone users– You simply need to go to Phone settings> Privacy> Photos> turn off WhatsApp. That’s it, you will no longer see WhatsApp images on your iPhone’s gallery.
For Android users– Hiding Whatsapp images from the gallery is slightly a lengthy process for Android users.
- Go to the file manager app that is installed on your phone.
- Go to WhatsApp Folder and then media.
- Then rename the ‘WhatsApp images’ folder to ‘.WhatsApp images’
- This will hide the WhatsApp images from your gallery.
5.Recover deleted WhatsApp messages(Android users only):
The last WhatsApp tricks is on recovering the deleted messages. Sometimes you accidently delete some of your important messages on WhatsApp. But don’t worry you can actually recover them easily. Just follow these steps:-
- Uninstall and then re-install WhatsApp.
- Sign up with the same number you have used with your previous WhatsApp account. You will be prompted that a backup has been found.
- Tap ‘Restore’ to start the restoring process. Once the process is completed, you will see all your messages and chats are back.
Along with the WhatsApp tricks, I would also like my viewers to have a glance on the new WhatsApp features that has recently rolled out. Yes, I am talking about the story-like status message which is actually much similar to that of Snapchat and Instagram. But the only difference is WhatsApp can protect the status updates with end-to-end encryption.
Let’s have a look at it:
Once your app is updated to latest version, you will see a Status tab on the top bar. You will first see your own updates in the bar. Below that, you can see your friend’s new update and viewed update.
You can add a status update by clicking the new update button on the bottom right corner which opens the camera. At the bottom, you will find all your recent photos, videos and GIFs in a strip as well. So you can either click a photo or hold for video or add an existing item.
Once added, you can tap on the status tab and see how many people have viewed your status. There are options to delete or forward the status as well.
Additionally, when you are viewing your friend’s updates you can swipe up and reply to them as well.
Is the new feature of WhatsApp really successful?
I would like to inform you guys that this story-like status feature of WhatsApp has failed miserably. According to reports, many people have claimed to introduce the text-only status back again. Hence, WhatsApp has revamped the option by listing it under the ‘About and Phone Number section’ in profile settings.
